As a business, we’re always watching out for news about the aviation industry to see how technology and ideas are progressing. That’s why we’re pleased to see that the first all-electric aircraft has finally taken off and flown, marking the start of the industry beginning to go green.
Naturally, we’re excited to see a zero-emission commercial aircraft because it marks the future becoming the present, so we thought we would look at what this can offer people.
A Productive First Flight
The aeroplane is unique as it is the first all-electric passenger model in the world, and it got off to a productive first flight.
The aircraft launched from the Grant County International Airport in Washington and flew successfully for eight minutes up in the air. The company behind the plane, Israeli-founded Eviation Aircraft, reports that the passenger airline was able to support nine people for the flight and reached an altitude of 3500ft.
The aircraft itself, dubbed “Alice”, works like an electric car or mobile device. It can be similarly put on charge and takes 30 minutes to generate enough power to fly for 1-2 hours. The company believes that with time, the plane will be able to travel 250 nautical miles, based on current technology.
The Green Future is Coming
Naturally, we’re pleased that this progress has taken place, and we can’t wait to see what the future will hold for private jets. We’ve been waiting for sustainable air travel to seep into the world for a while now, so it’s good to see that it’s managed to get here finally.
Ultimately, when it comes to things like sustainable travel, there’s a lot to think about. It needs to be feasible for the industry in general, of course, and right now, that may not be possible. However, that doesn’t mean that it will always be this way, and in a lot of ways, we’re due some more green innovation in the future.
This fantastic first flight proves that it can be done and that we’re starting to move forward into a more sustainable form of travel. We would be delighted to incorporate green methods of transport into our lineup of jets when the technology becomes feasible – it’s only a matter of time now!
Final Thoughts
Ultimately, we’re so happy to see this new form of transportation come to light. It is fantastic to see private jet travel evolving and growing beyond what we thought was possible. We can’t wait to see how the future unfolds too.
Private air travel is an industry which is here to stay, but that does mean we have to continue to evolve and grow – something we are happy to do in the right circumstances. When modern technology catches up and allows us to make long-haul flights on electric power, we’ll be glad to incorporate it. Until that day, we watch the green air travel sector grow with keen interest – the future is counting on their tremendous efforts!
