Medevac Charter – A Case Study
Getting sick or injured abroad is the last thing we went to think of when travelling. Unfortunately it can happen, and if it does – getting home quickly and safely is everyone’s top priority. Here is one client’s experience of Medevac Charter
A client made contact with the team after a freak accident on the ski slopes. One of their party had sustained an injury whilst on the trip in France. They received medical attention in the local area but were really keen to get home to their preferred medical team back in London. Having contacted us we were working on their medevac charter enquiry straight away. Within an hour we had options available to get our clients back to the UK.
Luckily the clients were in an area which had good accessibility. The ambulance was therefore able to drive right onto the runway and load the passenger into the aircraft quickly before departure. Medevac aircraft have all the medical equipment necessary to make the flight safe and comfortable. Unlike travelling on commercial flights, travelling with medication, medical equipment, oxygen and similar is no problem at all on a medical charter flight.
Like all private jet flights and with even greater importance in these circumstances time is key. The wait times are absolutely minimal for a medevac charter, and we have our passengers moving as soon as possible.
Our personal account managers were in contact with the flight operations teams throughout the flight, and were able to keep the family updated in the UK when the flight had taken off and landed in London. They were appreciative of this service especially at such an emotional and worrisome time. As soon as they landed, they were transferred to their London hospital to be met by their private doctor to begin their recovery.
