SKI SEASON & GENEVA

Geneva Airport is one of Europe’s busiest airports for private jets with over 30,000 private jet movements in 2017.

Geneva however is not exclusive to private jets and with most of Europe’s scheduled airlines having several flights into Geneva a day can make it a very busy airline airport. The demand during peak time such as Ski season means it can quickly reach its capacity for landing and take-off slots.

Between December and February, when the Ski season is in full swing and of course its popularity as a business airport, can make flight planning difficult especially for last minute flights on particularly school holidays and weekends.

Sometimes a landing slot for the aircraft can be secured to position in, but then will not match a departure slot or vice versa.
At Admiral Jet we recommend that clients looking to use Geneva during this period book further ahead than usual to secure their preferred timings – particularly if traveling over a weekend.

Of course, one of the reasons our clients book a private jet is the ability to book and fly at the last minute, with Geneva this of course can still be possible but may mean you will need a degree of flexibility with travel plans or of course use one of the smaller local airports such as Chambery, Lyon or Annecy.
